EAST LONDON- The legends gaming promotion hosted a unique media briefing in style on 28th November 2024 at Passenger Railway Agency of South Africa(PRASA) East London train station to show the arrangements that are taking place for 11th Annual Berlin November-SA.
This unique media briefing was first of its kind held on a joy ride train in motion, featured a dry run of the PRASA train service, highlighting their state of readiness alongside with their dedicated stakeholders namely Mayibuye transport corporation, Eastern Cape Department of transport, Department of Social development, Ilitha Ndevana Berlin district taxi association to name few.
On the joyride train from East London train station to Ntabozuko train station(formerly known as Berlin) Founder and organiser of Berlin November Luthando Bara was amongst those who are experiencing PRASA wheels to Ntabozuko.
Bara had this to say, “Berlin November is not just a event it’s a programme that was initiated essentially to promote traditional horseracing in the Eastern Cape, we also want to grow the fashion industry by making that we are able to exploit to the world our own creativity and craft in the form of fashion,” he added.
As all eyes are on the 11th Annual Berlin November horseracing festival, this year’s promises to be more than just race but a vibrant celebration of community spirit and services.
PRASA emphasized that definitely they will be transporting valid ticket holders at absolutely at no cost as per partnership with Berlin November-SA, PRASA spokesperson Andiswa Makhanda said, “As the agency we are really excited to be part of Berlin November just to show that we are more than just a commuter service but we also support tourism, leisure and sport activities.”
The horse-racing extravaganza has expanded to encompass a plethora of activities designed to serve all community members. Attendees can look forward to government services on wheels and a special department of Social development sponsored alcohol free zone, ensuring a fun and inclusive atmosphere for everyone.
In addition MEC for Eastern Cape Department of sports, recreation, arts and culture Sibulele Ngongo said, “This horserace festival has opened up opportunities for our people while they get to participate in these races from the comfort of their homes.”
PRASA is thrilled to offer free train rides to valid ticket holders, making it easier than ever to join in on the festivities. Those who will be enjoying free ride will be entertained by two exciting provincial artists Bethusile Mcinga and Ikhona.
A train from East London train station to Ntabozuko is scheduled to leave in the morning from 10:00 then return to East London at 23:00.
