Seismic media’s new dama to boost local talent in Mdantsane

EAST LONDON- Seismic Media has announced the commencement of pre-production for its highly anticipated drama series, ‘Dirty East’ on 19 November 2025 set against the vibrant backdrop of Mdantsane and East London. This remarkable project has been made possible through the generous support of the Eastern Cape Provincial Arts and Culture Council (ECPACC) and the Eastern Cape Development Corporation (ECDC).

Seismic Media is pleased to invite local actors to audition for supporting roles, with over 20 positions available offering a unique opportunity to work alongside renowned national actors like Zola Nombona, Rorisang Mohapi and Andile Nebuana .

The auditions will take place on Tuesday, 25 November at the Mdantsane Youth Center.In a statement issued by Seismic Media emphasised that, “We are thrilled to offer this platform for local talent to shine, more than 20 roles are available and selected cast members will receive hands-on training from renowned national actors during filming.”

Furthmore through its Skills Transfer and Industry Development workshops, Seismic Media aims to empower 15-20 participants with intensive training in production support, scriptwriting and technical support.

“This initiative showcases Seismic Media’s commitment to developing the industry, building local capacity and creating jobs within the province,” Seismic Media.

In addition ECPACC and ECDC highlights a shared vision to spark growth in the Eastern Cape’s film and TV industry.

Details about applications, eligibility and guidelines will be released soon via Seismic Media’s official channels. Up-and-coming filmmakers and young creatives should start preparing their applications and keep an eye out for updates.
