The Eastern Cape Non-Profit Organization(NPO) Multi-Purpose Forum is launching a free Artificial Intelligence(AI) training program for 15,000 unemployed youths across the province. The program which commences on 1st of May 2025 will be conducted virtually and targets youths between 18 and 40 years old.
To participate, applicants must have at least a Grade 10 qualification and access to a smartphone or computer with basic knowledge of the device. Furthermore, the 30-day course covers various modules including Understanding Generative AI, The Evolution of Search Technologies and Cybersecurity in the AI Era.
Participants will gain a deep understanding of AI concepts, develop practical skills in machine learning and benefit from networking opportunities with industry professionals.
The Eastern Cape NPO Multi-Purpose Forum Chairperson Thobela Peter Phelusile said, “We are determined to see the marginalized black child empowered, equipped and capacitated with the requisite skills as determined by the current technological advancements.”
In addition, Registration is open until 27th April 2025. The Eastern Cape MPO Multi-Purpose Forum secretary Nkululeko Mgwayi urges young people to apply, emphasizing the importance of fighting youth unemployment. “We understand that this comes as a short notice but we still urge our youth to apply so that as a collective we can fight the scourge of youth unemployment,” said Mgwayi.
Interested youth can register for the program before the deadline to take advantage of this opportunity and enhance their skills in AI.
