Preparing students for the workforce Eduvos’s approach

EAST LONDON – Eduvos college in East London hosted a career fair on the campus on 15th August 2025, connecting students with industry professionals and providing opportunities for career guidance.

The event attracted various organisations, including Capitec bank, Virgin Active healthlifestyle, Nedbank, Ampth, Cortex Hub, and local accounting firms all of which stand to benefit significantly from their partnership with the college.

A Student’s perspective pursuing a higher certificate in business management Lilitha Mdebuka, attended the career fair and shared her experience. “I learnt about the importance of building a professional network and how it can open doors to new opportunities. I also gained insights into the skills required by employers in the business sector,” Mdebuka said.

According to Eduvos’s Academic Manager Megan Mxhunyelwa, the career fair is an essential event that bridges the gap between academia and industry. “It offers a unique opportunity for our students to network with potential employers, gain exposure to different industries and learn about the various career paths available to them,” Mxhunyelwa explained.

She also emphasised that, “It’s beneficial for both our students and businesses as they get access to graduates with the core abilities and values that employers deem necessary for today’s successes.”

By participating in the event, students took a significant step towards achieving their career aspirations.

In addition local accounting firms also engaged with students, offering opportunities for work-integrated learning and employment possibilities.
