Mercedes-Benz South Africa(MBSA)Limited has announced the appointment of Mr. Abey Kgotle as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective 01 December 2025. This appointment marks a significant development in the company’s leadership, as Mr. Kgotle brings a wealth of experience and expertise in the automotive industry.
According to MBSA, Mr. Kgotle has a strong background in the automotive sector, having served on the boards of Mercedes-Benz Financial Services and Daimler Trucks and Buses SA. His extensive experience in the industry is expected to bring new energy and vision to MBSA Limited.
In addition to his new role at MBSA Limited, Mr. Kgotle currently serves as Chairman of the Automobile Employers Organisation (AMEO), which represents South Africa’s Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs). This position further underscores his leadership capabilities and industry knowledge.
Chairperson of the Board of Directors, Wilfried Porth, extended a warm welcome to Mr. Kgotle on his appointment. “We warmly welcome Mr. Kgotle on his appointment as CEO of MBSA Limited. The outgoing CEO Andreas Brand, will assume the role of Executive Director of MBSA Manufacturing until 30 November 2025, after which a separate replacement for this position will be announced in due course, ensuring a smooth transition within the company.
Furthermore, with Mr. Kgotle at the helm MBSA Limited is poised to leverage his expertise and leadership to drive growth, innovation and success in the automotive industry. The company’s solid foundation, combined with Mr. Kgotle’s vision is expected to yield new opportunities and strengthen its market position.
