Local youth empowered through digital skills training

MTHATHA- In a ground-breaking achievement over 100 learners from the King Sabata Dalindyebo Municipality(KSD) in Mthatha have earned certification in Microsoft and Cisco NedCad Academy Courses at the Innovation and Digital Skills Centre(IDSC).

This remarkable milestone was held at Mayfair Hotel in Mthatha on 21st November 2024 and marks a significant stride towards bridging the digital divide and unlocking job opportunities for young people in the region.At the heart of this achievement is Liquid Intelligent Technologies unwavering commitment to promoting digital inclusion and skills development.

According to Chief Executive Officer(CEO) for Liquid Intelligent Technologies South Africa Deon Geyser said, “Our certification program offered free of charge to learners is a testament to our dedication to empowering local communities through digital skills training.”

In addition IDSC in Mthatha has emerged as a beacon of hope for young people seeking to acquire essential ICT skills and accredited certifications. Since its inception the IDSC has registered an impressive 367 learners, created 149 job opportunities and achieved an enviable 86% pass rate among registered learners.

Furthermore, remarkable initiative is a shining example of the transformative power of partnerships between the public and private sectors. “By working together, these stakeholders are driving meaningful change and promoting economic development in the region,” said CEO Geyser.

As the IDSC continues to empower young people with the digital skills they need to succeed, it is clear that a brighter more prosperous future is on the horizon for Mthatha and beyond.
