EAST LONDON– The Gcinabantu Hutchison Ngcukayitobi Foundation (GHNF) hosted its 2nd Swing for Peace Golf Day at the East London Golf Club on 28 November 2025, drawing together golf enthusiasts, community leaders and organisations committed to building a safer, more united Eastern Cape.
The event proved to be a resounding success, strengthening partnerships and amplifying the foundation’s mission to promote peace, hope and social upliftment across the province.
GHNF Chairperson Brenda Ngcukayitobi said the day’s impact extended far beyond the fairways. “The golf day was more than just a sporting event it was a powerful demonstration of community leadership in action, we are thrilled with how everything turned out and how the weather allowed us to play safely. This event is a testament to the power of community‑driven efforts to create positive change,” she said.

Ngcukayitobi highlighted that the initiative brought together men, women, sponsors and supporters with a shared determination to stand against violence, uplift communities and drive meaningful transformation.
Furthermore the success of the event was made possible through the support of generous sponsors, including Metropolitan, the Dan Pasiya Foundation, Audi to mention few whose contributions strengthened GHNF’s ongoing community‑focused programmes.
Funds raised during the event will support the foundation’s anti‑gender‑based violence initiatives, youth empowerment programmes, feeding schemes and Early Childhood Development (ECDCs) nutrition centres.
One of the players all the way from Kouga Municipality, Lungani Dyam said their participation reflects a commitment to purposeful, community‑driven initiatives.“We always believe in supporting purposeful initiatives, which is why we’re here today. Because this initiative targets the empowerment of women who are often subjected to gender‑based violence and other societal ills as men we want to express our support and solidarity. We hope to see them succeed,” Dyam said.
In addition Secretary and Project Manager at the Dan Pasiya Foundation Khanya Maseti, reaffirmed her organisation’s continued partnership with GHNF. She noted that they had sponsored a hole with four balls and described the event as ‘the best she’s attended’, adding that the Dan Pasiya Foundation has supported GHNF since its inception.
Players from across the province also commended the smooth execution and spirit of the event. Gqeberha golfer Ayanda Peter praised both the organisation and the charitable purpose behind the day. “This has been one of the most enjoyable golfing experiences I’ve attended,” he said. “It’s time to give back to the needy and my group came to support the good cause. This is a charity foundation, and we are proud to stand behind its mission.”

The GHNF Swing for Peace Golf Day continues to establish itself as a leading community event, one that champions unity, empowerment and a safer more hopeful future for the Eastern Cape.
