MTHATHA – At just 17 years old, Charmaine Dangazele is proving that true beauty goes beyond appearance. As she prepares to compete in the Mr & Miss Mthatha pageant on 27 September 2025 the Grade 11 learner from Nozuko Secondary School is calling on her community for support.
Since beginning her modeling journey in 2023, Charmaine has already earned four sashes, trophies and certificates, showcasing her talent and dedication.

But it’s her commitment to education and service that truly defines her.
In an exclusive interview with Eastern Cape Daily News Dangazele had this to say, “I want to inspire others to believe in themselves and celebrate their individuality,” says Charmaine, who is passionate about using modeling to uplift and empower others especially young people in her community.
Beyond the pageant stage, she is actively involved in community work. She recently donated school supplies to Mzimvubu Junior Secondary School and took part in a clean-up initiative in Ngangelizwe. “Giving back is important to me, I want to make a difference and inspire others to do the same,” she explains.
Charmaine balances school and modeling with a clear sense of purpose, aiming to show that young people can lead with compassion and determination.

Her message to others is one of self-belief, leadership and making a positive impact wherever possible.
