COOKHOUSE– Meet Lindokuhle Ndaku Tsobo, affectionately known as ‘Pastor Bae,’ is a rising talent from the small town of Cookhouse who is steadily carving his path into the world of radio and entertainment.

A passionate communicator and natural-born speaker, Tsobo is pursuing his lifelong dream of becoming a prominent voice on one of South Africa’s biggest radio stations, UMhlobo Wenene FM.

From a young age, Tsobo was drawn to radio, often spending hours listening to his favorite presenters. Among them, Thozama Ngcongolo of UMhlobo Wenene FM played a crucial role in shaping his aspirations.

“I used to call her show just to hear her voice. She inspired me so much,” Tsobo recalls fondly. Today, Thozama remains his role model. His passion for speaking was evident even in his school days, where he often read aloud to classmates. This early confidence with public speaking paved the way for his radio ambitions.

But Tsobo’s talents don’t end there he is also a preacher and a charismatic MC.

“I’m not just a radio presenter. I preach the word of God and I also work as an MC,” he says. “At first, I thought being an MC was just something small, but people kept inviting me to do MC work at funerals and birthday parties. That’s when I took it seriously.”

Recently, he secured an MC gig at a community event in Gqeberha, a testament to his growing recognition. Despite the challenges he faced, including not being able to complete his studies due to personal circumstances at home, Tsobo remains determined.

Furthermore, he is planning to return to school and believes in continuously developing his talents. “I want to work at UMhlobo Wenene FM because they use my home language. That way, people can really understand my message,” he says.

For Tsobo, language is not just a medium it’s a connection to community, culture and identity.

In addition he also offers a word of encouragement to other young people pursuing radio careers: “Compete with yourself. When you compete with others, you become bitter. But when you focus on bettering yourself, you grow and you achieve your dreams.”
