KUGOMPO CITY – House 87 has officially launched tickets sales for the Quigney Culture Festival 2027 on 24th September 2026 at House 87 in KuGompo City, ahead of the festival scheduled to take place on 26th to 27th February 2027.
The festival aims to bring together artists, creatives, businesses, vendors and members of the community to celebrate culture, music, creativity and local talent.
House 87 and the Quigney Culture Festival Creative founder Thando Thomas emphasised that the upcoming event will build on the success of the previous festival while creating more opportunities for local communities.

However, the official launch of the festival tickets marks the beginning of preparations for the 2027 event and gives members of the public an opportunity to secure their places in advance.
The Quigney Culture Festival aims to celebrate culture, music, creativity and local talent while creating opportunities for artists, young people, small businesses and vendors to showcase their work.
Founder and Creative Director of Costa Denim, Kabelo Brandon Mokoena said their decision to be part of the Quigney Culture Festival is driven by the festival’s close alignment with the brand’s values and principles, particularly its commitment to culture.

“One of the things that Costa Denim represents and is guided by is culture and the Quigney Culture Festival is exactly where culture is. It is driven by culture,” said Mokoena.
He added that being part of the festival is significant because it reflects what Costa Denim represents and stands for.

Furthermore, the organisers have planned various activities leading up to the festival, including community activations, stakeholder engagements, networking sessions, workshops and clean up campaigns.
Thomas emphasised that the festival would introduce a range of activities leading up to the main event to improve the overall experience for attendees and strengthen community involvement.
“From today, we are starting with festival activation activities including clean up campaigns, stakeholder engagements, networking sessions, workshops and other initiatives. People can look forward to different activations from now until next year,” he said.
Thomas further stated that the organisers would maintain the festival’s strong line up while placing greater emphasis on improving the experience for the festivalgoers.
“We want to maintain the standard of having a strong line up but most importantly, we want to improve the overall experience,” he said.

In addition, the creative director of Quigney Culture festival emphasised that the festival will create more opportunities for small businesses, young people and local creatives.
Thomas said the previous festival featured about 10 stalls, while the organisers are targeting 40 stalls for the upcoming edition.
Meanwhile, the 2027 festival is expected to build on the response to the previous edition while creating an expanded platform for local and national artists and entrepreneurs.
Events Manager at House 87 and the Quigney Culture Festival, Nqabayethu Makapula said the festival is more than an entertainment event, describing it as an urban renewal project aimed at contributing to the growth of the Eastern Cape.
“I expect a lot from this festival because it is not just a festival, it is also an urban renewal project and an initiative that aims to boost the Eastern Cape,” said Nqabayethu.
In addition, Nqabayethu said being part of the festival’s growth represents an opportunity for personal and professional development.
“For me personally, it is also about growth.”
He further stated that the festival aims to introduce an Eastern Cape born artist to the national stage while maintaining its commitment to local talent.

“We want to introduce a new Eastern Cape born artist to the national scene. We look at the Quigney Culture Festival as a national festival, so our artists are not only from the Eastern Cape but from across the country. At the same time, we are not shying away from giving our local artists a platform,” he said.
With tickets now on sale, the Quigney Culture Festival 2027 is set to return bigger, bringing culture, music and local talent together while creating opportunities for creatives, businesses and communities across the Eastern Cape.
