GQEBERHA- The Capital Boardwalk, a new aparthotel development is set to open in Gqeberha on 17 April with guest accommodation available from 1st May.The development, by The Capital Hotel Group marks the company’s first presence in the Eastern Cape.
Located within the Boardwalk precinct, the property comprises 145 units, including hotel rooms, studios, serviced apartments and penthouses.

Facilities include conference venues, co-working spaces, a restaurant, gym and leisure areas.
The aparthotel model, which combines hotel services with self-catering facilities is aimed at business travellers and longer-stay visitors. Units include kitchens and laundry amenities.
Chief executive Marc Wachsberger said the development forms part of the group’s national expansion and is intended to contribute to local economic activity.

According to the developer, more than 500 jobs were created during construction. Between 170 and 200 permanent positions are expected once the development is fully operational.
Furthermore, the property is situated along the Nelson Mandela Bay beachfront, with access to retail, dining and entertainment facilities in the surrounding precinct.

The opening comes amid continued investment in Gqeberha’s tourism and hospitality sector.
