Local beauty mogul Zenande Gexu selected to showcase on Berlin November-RSA

EAST LONDON– An East London‑born entrepreneur and makeup artist Zenande Gexu is poised for Berlin November RSA 20255 as she prepares to showcase her growing beauty brand, Beauty Base at the prestigious Berlin November 2025 event.

Gexu, who owns Beauty Base in Vincent, East London has become a standout in the local beauty industry thanks to her innovative approach to beauty services and commitment to quality. Her business will be among the selected beauty brands Berlin November Horse Race-SA event.

Gexu’s love for beauty began in her teenage years. “I would practice hair and makeup techniques on myself and my cousins using YouTube tutorials,” she recalled. She later taught herself lash application techniques, using these skills to earn pocket money during her tertiary studies.

Her academic and corporate background further shaped her entrepreneurial path. She completed a Master of Business Administration (MBA) at Cyprus International University in 2020, during the height of the Covid‑19 pandemic.

After returning home to South Africa, she decided to turn her passion into a full‑time business, officially launching Beauty Base in March 2022.

Beauty Base offers an impressive range of specialised beauty services, including hair, makeup, lashes, facials, and advanced skincare treatments. The business also stocks a curated selection of products such as original Dubai perfumes, face masks, Inuka products, lash kits and general cosmetic items.

As part of its commitment to customer service and professional development, Beauty Base provides training opportunities and is officially a member of the TLC Nationwide Rewards Programme, rewarding loyal clients and staff dedication.

At the Berlin November event, Beauty Base will offer makeup touch‑ups from R200, hair touch‑ups and sales of perfumes and Inuka products. Gexu also plans to offer discounted training‑course sign‑ups, valid for attendees who pay their deposits within 48 hours of registering.

The occasion holds special personal significance for Gexu. “The event is on the exact day of my birthday, I believe this was God’s present to me for all the hard work and effort I have put into building this business,” she said.

Looking ahead, Gexu aims to become an accredited beauty‑service provider and expand both her service offerings and product line.
