Ovayo Dlilanga takes home the coveted title of Miss Golden Heart SA

EAST LONDON– In a historic moment for South African pageantry, Ovayo Dlilanga(20) a Bachelor of Law student at the University of Fort Hare was crowned the inaugural Miss Golden Heart South Africa Crown Zazi on Saturday, 5th October 2025 at Lilitha boutique hotel. The glamorous event held in East London, marked a remarkable milestone not only in Ovayo’s personal journey but in the celebration of young South African women striving to uplift their communities through grace, purpose and empowerment.

Beaming with emotion as she accepted the beautifully crafted crown imported from the Philippines.

Dlilanga shared her heartfelt gratitude. “It feels so elating and exciting,” she said, her voice tinged with awe. “It’s a dream come true. Like a dream coming into reality.”

From being contestant number 17 in a field of 17 talented finalists, Dlilanga’s ascent was both unexpected and inspiring. Her poise, authenticity and commitment to the values of Ubuntu impressed both judges and spectators, earning her the top spot in a highly competitive event.

Now holding the title of Miss Golden Heart South Africa, Dlilanga is set to become a symbol of hope and empowerment for young women across the country.

Reflecting on her new role, she said, “I’m planning on automatically embracing Crown Zazi and representing her as she is golden.” Her words echo a clear commitment to service, leadership and community upliftment.

In addition Director of Miss Golden Heart South Africa Simamkele Wanga, commended the competition’s focus on more than just physical beauty. “Winning isn’t just about beauty inner qualities and character are the hallmarks of this pageant,” he stated. “Ovayo’s win is a true testament to her embodiment of these values.”
