From two flats to a full-service guest House; EzaMaxesibe’s growth story

WILLOWVALE– What started as a simple dream has blossomed into one of Willowvale’s most charming and inspiring destinations. EzaMaxesibe Guest House, established in April 2024 now stands as a symbol of perseverance, ambition and rural pride.

The founder, Yanga Zaula (42), was born in Cape Town’s kwaLanga township and raised in Willowvale. After earning a qualification in Internal Auditing at Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) and working in investment administration, Zaula decided to follow his entrepreneurial dreams. It began modestly; just two flats at the back of a house he purchased in 2010. By 2017, he expanded the property adding four more flats and renovating the main house.

These would later be converted into the guest house, which quickly attracted visitors due to its welcoming atmosphere and thoughtful design.

Driven by the lack of quality accommodation in the area, Zaula acquired land along the R408 in Willowvale and began building.

Construction was slow, funds were tight and frequent trips to Cape Town were necessary for basic supplies like tiles and plumbing.

Today, the guest house features a swimming pool, a nearly completed reception area and a planned conference room.

The stylish lounge at EzaMaxesibe Guest House offers guests a cozy space to relax, dine and enjoy entertainment.

Zaula, who actively manages daily operations, believes in hands-on leadership. “You must babysit the business,” he says.
