Confidence and talent shine as Sisipho wins Miss Mthatha Junior’25

QUMBU– At just 15 years old, a talented young girl from Sulenkama village in Qumbu is proving that determination, confidence and passion can take you far. Currently residing in Ncambedlana, Mthatha and a Grade 10 student at Khanyisa High School, she has made a name for herself as a model and an advocate for women empowerment.

Sisipho Matiwane’s remarkable journey began earlier this year when she joined the Miss Khanyisa High School pageant, walking away as second princess. On 10 May, she was crowned Miss Buhlebendalo 2025 Queen and her hard work and determination reached new heights on 27 September when she earned the prestigious title of Miss Mthatha Junior 2025 overall winner.

Reflecting on her journey, she shared, “It was an incredible experience and I am truly grateful to my supporters. Yes, there were challenges along the way, but giving up was never an option. I became more motivated, gained confidence and learned the importance of trusting and embracing yourself,” said Matiwane.

Passionate about inspiring young girls, Matiwane emphasized that “Beauty is not just about physical appearance but also about the kindness we carry.”

As Miss Mthatha Junior 2025, her platform will focus on promoting acceptance and women empowerment, aiming to be the voice of the voiceless.

In addition Matiwane credits her success to her inspirations, including fellow young model Kwakhanya Sibono and her mother, Nwabisa Matiwane, who supported her every step of the way.

Furthermore Matiwane said that, “I joined Miss Mthatha Junior because I recognized my potential and wanted to showcase my versatility. Winning the overall title was a proud moment and I am committed to giving my best throughout my journey,” she said.

With confidence, energy and a heart for empowerment, Matiwane is not just a pageant queen, she’s a role model showing young girls that with self-belief and determination, the sky is the limit.
