GQEBERHA- A devastating crime has shaken the community after a 25-year-old man Baxolisile Vuso appeared in the Gqeberha Magistrate’s Court on 03 January 2025, accused of brutally murdering his 21-year-old girlfriend Zanele Dibaza on 01 January 2025. The events of that fateful New Year’s Day are still unfolding but it’s reported that Vuso had taken Dibaza to his residence in Qunu township where her life was tragically cut short.
Dibaza’s sister had grown concerned when she couldn’t reach her, leading her to Vuso’s doorstep. What she found was a horrific scene; Zanele lay brutally beaten and barely clinging to life.
According to Eastern Cape South African police Service(SAPS) spokesperson Lt. Colonel Siphokazi Mawisa, Zanele suffered severe head wounds and was rushed to hospital where she was pronounced dead on arrival. Vuso surrendered to the Chatty police and now faces a murder charge.
As the community grapples with the shocking allegations the investigation continues and Vuso remains in custody.
