EDUCATION- The wait is almost over for the Class of 2024 as the matric results are set to be released on 14th January 2025, despite the Information Regulator’s enforcement notice prohibiting the release of matric results in newspapers due to potential violations of the Protection of Personal Information Act(POPIA).
Department of Basic Education(DBE) is pushing forward with the release, Minister of Basic Education Siviwe Gwarube will officially announce the outcome of the 2024 matric exams on 13th January 2025.
The results will be available to the public on 14th January 2025 from 06:00 on DBE’s official website. Matriculants can also collect their official statements of results from their school or exam centres from 08:00 on the same day. For those who prefer a more convenient option results can be accessed via SMS by sending your exam number to 35658.
Alternatively, you can use the USSD service by dialing *120*35658# on your phone. However, please note that USSD usage costs 50c per 20 seconds and free airtime does not apply.
It’s worth noting that the USSD service is only applicable for National Senior Certificate examinations and is not available for learners who wrote under the Independent Examinations Board.
Furthermore DBE has emphasized that result queries should be submitted for investigation within 30 days after the release of results.
