DIMBAZA– A 34‑year‑old fashion technician from Dimbaza, Tase Jack has made his mark on the South African fashion landscape after winning a R50 000 voucher at the prestigious Local Fashion Police 2025 competition.
Known for his sharp eye for design, styling and lifestyle content creation, Jack continues to rise as one of the province’s standout creative talents. Jack, who graduated with a qualification in fashion design from Walter Sisulu University in 2014 has steadily built a reputation as an influential voice in South Africa’s fashion community.
His recent win, announced during the competition finale held on 27 November 2025 in Johannesburg, recognises his exceptional contribution to the local fashion scene.

Speaking to Eastern Cape Daily News, Jack expressed heartfelt gratitude for the honour. “I am honoured to receive this award and I am grateful for the opportunities that have enabled me to pursue my passion for fashion,” he said.
While celebrating his achievement, Jack also drew attention to the broader challenges facing the industry. He highlighted the need for increased government support and funding to help local businesses grow and create employment.
“Local businesses aren’t getting enough funding, which means we’re not creating as many jobs as we could be,” he noted.
In addition Jack’s love for fashion began at a young age. He recalls dressing dolls and redesigning his school uniform to make it fit better early signs of a natural designer in the making. To him, fashion is deeply personal.
“Fashion is all about comfort and personal taste. It’s not just about following trends but expressing yourself through your style,” he explained.
He further emphasised that the industry offers a wide range of opportunities beyond designing clothes or owning a boutique.
“I want to encourage people to explore the many opportunities available in this field,” he added.
Jack’s journey, marked by passion, creativity and determination is a powerful reminder of what can be achieved with hard work and perseverance.
As he continues making waves in the fashion world, he stands as an inspiration to aspiring designers across the Eastern Cape and beyond.
