Funds raised through fashion to support children with Cancer

EAST LONDON– Merging glamour with purpose, the TC Model Management Metropolitan (TCMM) MET Gala 2025, themed ‘Vintage Hollywood,’ created a dazzling platform that celebrated artistry while making a meaningful difference in the lives of children battling with cancer.

The star-studded event, held at Hemmingways Mall in East London on 08 November 2025, raised vital funds for the Childhood Cancer Foundation South Africa (CHOC), an organisation providing crucial support to children with cancer and their families.

Under the visionary leadership of Chantal Pillay, Founder and Director of TC Model Management, the gala showcased elegance, empowerment and compassion. “We wanted to bring the magic of a world-class fashion experience to our local stage while supporting a cause that truly matters the fight against childhood cancer,” said Pillay.

The evening featured collaborations with major brands including MAC Cosmetics and Mpuma Kapa TV, alongside some of South Africa’s top designers, models and performers.

Guests were treated to stunning runway presentations, live entertainment and heartfelt stories of resilience from CHOC families. All proceeds from the TCMM MET Gala 2025 were donated directly to CHOC, funding essential programmes such as accommodation, transport, and psychosocial support for families during treatment.

“Every ticket sold, every sponsorship secured and every donation received contributes to making a tangible difference in a child’s life,” Pillay emphasised.

Beyond fundraising, the TCMM MET Gala stood as a testament to the transformative power of fashion and community.

“This was more than just a fashion event, it was a movement dedicated to nurturing talent, building confidence, and creating opportunities,” Pillay added.

The success of the gala not only highlighted East London’s growing role as a hub for creative excellence but also reminded attendees that fashion can be both beautiful and deeply impactful.
