EAST LONDON- Mercedes-Benz-South Africa(MBSA) and Laureus Sport for Good Foundation South Africa have announced the graduation of the third cohort of 16 non-profit organisations from their Incubation Hub programme in the province, on 12th February 2025 at MBSA plant in East London.
This collaboration has seen a total investment of R3.5 million in funding to support non-profits organisations in Gauteng and in the Eastern Cape. The Incubation Hub programme launched in 2022 aims to equip non-profit organisations with the skills, mentorship and tools necessary to scale their initiatives and drive sustainable social impact.
Over the past three years the programme has supported 31 non-profits providing them with training in strategic development, governance, financial management and child safeguarding. Six exceptional non-profits were recognised for their outstanding commitment and proposals, receiving R400,000 each to continue their critical work in addressing pressing social challenges.
Additionally, these organisations include Nyara Youth Development, Light of Hope, Helping Those in Need, Faith and Hope Foundation, Child Welfare Tshwane and Arch Impact Accelerator.
MBSA Executive Director for Human Resources and Corporate Affairs Abey Kgotle, emphasized the importance of this partnership stating, “Our collaboration with Laureus Sport for Good Foundation South Africa demonstrates the strength and resilience of organisations working tirelessly to bring lasting social change.”
Laureus Sport for Good Foundation South Africa is using sport to make a difference in people’s lives. They believe that sport can bring people together and help solve big problems like poverty and inequality.
The Foundation works with 27 organizations in over 100 communities to help young people, they use sport to teach important life skills and values like teamwork, discipline and respect.
In addition Laureus Sport for Good Foundation South Africa is proud to partner with Mercedes-Benz South Africa. Together they are making a big impact and changing lives for the better.
