LUSIKISIKI- Eastern Cape police are urging the public to come forward with any information that may lead to the capture of Songezo Vuma, also known as ‘Mashiya, who is allegedly linked to the brutal killings of 18 family members in Lusikisiki on 28 September 2024. Seven suspects who are in prison, including the alleged mastermind who is already serving life sentence, were arrested last month in connection with the incident and will appear in court again next week on 26th November 2024.
According to Eastern Cape police spokesperson Siphokazi Mawisa, Vuma’s capture is crucial in solving the Lusikisiki killings, “The initial investigation by the South African police believes that Songezo ‘Mashiya‘ Vuma may be able to assist the police in solving the Lusikisiki problem, the killing of many people,” Mawisa said.
