MTHATHA– From the heart of Mthatha to the legal corridors of East London, Lwazi Dekeda, founder of Lwazi Dekeda Inc (LDI), embodies the spirit of perseverance, faith and justice.
Born and raised in Mthatha, Dekeda began his journey in law at the University of Transkei (Unitra) now known as Walter Sisulu University(WSU) where he completed his law degree before stepping into the legal profession in 2000 as an attorney, notary and conveyancer.
After two decades of legal practice, a new vision began to take shape. “In 2020, the Lord started to speak to me again, saying it’s time for my own firm,” Dekeda recalled. That calling led to the establishment of LDI Law Firm in 2021, driven by the mission to ‘Let justice flow like a never-ending stream.’
Operating from Vincent, East London LDI Law Firm offers a broad range of legal services, including consultations and wills, motor vehicle accident claims, property transfers, trusts, antenuptial contracts and more.
The firm’s guiding principle is to make justice accessible through efficient and cost-effective legal solutions. “It’s to say that legal services end up being influenced to provide an efficient and cost-effective service for our clients,” Dekeda explained.
With his extensive background as an attorney, conveyancer, notary and author, Dekeda has built a practice focused on excellence, clarity and compassion. “It has taught me the value of diligent work,” he said, reflecting on how his professional journey shaped his leadership at LDI.
Launching a new firm during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic was not without challenges.
Yet, for Dekeda faith and experience became the anchors that kept his vision steady. “One really had to believe that this thing could work,” he shared.
He also credits his professional networks developed over years of collaboration and partnership for helping him establish a foothold in a competitive industry.
He further added that, “Leverage on one’s experience and the established networks created not only during my time as a partner at other firms, but also from my other areas of work,” he said.
For Dekeda, success in law extends beyond legal victories it’s about integrity and consistency.
His advice to young professionals is both timeless and profound. “You can never underestimate the value of hard work and maintaining a good name. Your name will go ahead of you and speak for you if you are one who guards your values,” he said.
