National Lotteries Commission empowers non-profit organisations

EAST LONDON- The National Lotteries Commission(NLC) in partnership with the Department of Social Development (DSD) held a workshop in East London to assist non-profit organisations with the application process for funding. The event, held at the Premier Hotel Regent on 11th August 2025, aimed to address challenges faced by organisations in securing funding.

A soccer football club from Parkside Sisadukashe, previously funded by NLC, attended the workshop to seek assistance in reapplying for funding.

Administrator at Boader Icon and Sports Deon Nuwer, expressed hope that their application would be considered. “We came here to apply for NLC funding, we’ve never been funded by them, we saw a chance and decided to run with it,” he said.
