As the founder of Bali Private Chef Pty(Ltd), Bali is redefining the private chef experience weaving together flavors and flair to create unforgettable dining experiences.Bali’s passion for cooking was sparked by watching Jamie Oliver’s shows on SABC as a young boy and later Gordon Ramsay’s culinary expertise.
He honed his skills at Alfresco International Academy of Food and Wine where he discovered his flair for fusion cuisine. After co-founding Bali Meve Meats in Cawa (formerly known as Port Alfred), Bali launched the Bali Private Chef in 2022 offering bespoke culinary experiences.
With a lifetime passion for cooking that began at just six years old, Mihlali Bali established himself as a respected figure in the culinary world.
On interview with Eastern Cape Daily News he emphasized that, boasting an impressive 10 year tenure as a professional chef, Bali continues to push the boundaries of his craft.
“Cooking has always been my way of life, as a reflection on my love affair with the culinary arts, my years as a chef have truly been the best years of my life,” said Bali.
His unique spice blends elevate traditional dishes, while his customer engagement strategy has built a loyal client base. Bali’s recipes draw inspiration from Italian, Greek and Middle Eastern cuisines.
He has worked alongside renowned Chef Zinzi, who regularly recommends his services to clients. Despite facing setbacks including loadshedding, Bali perseveres driven by his commitment to his brand.
Private Chef Bali had this to say, “As a chef I had to get back up and keep going, Bali Private Chef offers a range of services, including private dining events, customized meal plans, corporate catering, special occasions and dietary-specific meals,” he emphasized.
Currently, Bali is working at Cafe Mio but his private chef business remains operational, awaiting future opportunities. He also participates in St. Bernadette’s School’s annual catering game, showcasing his culinary expertise.
“With determination and creativity I poised to take the private chef industry by storm,” he said.
In addition Bali hopes to expand his business, educating people about the role of private chefs and securing more bookings for events and celebrations. His resilience and passion for cooking make him a force to be reckoned with in the culinary world.
