BHISHO- The Eastern Cape Department of Education(EC DOoE) has confirmed its readiness for the 2025 academic year with all necessary equipment, books and workbooks distributed to schools.
According to EC DoE spokesperson Malibongwe Mtima, the department has taken proactive steps to ensure a smooth start to the academic year. Teachers hired during the post provisioning norms declaration last year have been provided with the necessary resources, including a budget allocation for school books in 2024/25.
“The department also paid out funds to schools at the end of August 2024, ensured that teachers were deployed to each school at the end of September 2024,” said Mtima.
Furthermore the EC DoE paid the final installment for meal provisions in December 2024, guaranteeing that learners would have access to nutritious meals throughout the year.
This move demonstrates the department’s commitment to providing a supportive learning environment for students.
